A Great Opportunity
Today I head over to Anderson, SC to NewSpring Church where Perry Noble is the lead pastor. I started reading Perry’s blog and following the amazing story of NewSpring about a year ago. What God is up to there is amazing!! The church has grown to 7-8000 in about 7-8 years! They have been in their new facility for about a year and are already running 4 services (2 on Sunday morning and 2 on Sunday evenings)!!
In March we took 33 staff and volunteers over for a one-day, shot-in-the-arm conference that was absolutely awesome. We got a first hand look at what happens when God gets hold of a church and how they have structured themselves to be used by God to reach Anderson County for Christ.
Somehow out of that I got invited to a special Pastor’s roundtable discussion with 8-10 of the sharpest pastors in America!!! These guys are pastoring churches of several thousand!! I am humbled and honored just to be included. I recently read through Proverbs in my Quiet Times so this is definitely an opportunity to pursue wisdom!Â
I believe one of the mistakes I made out of ignorance was not getting around other church planters and pastors. Just in the past year I’ve the opportunity to meet some INCREDIBLE pastors/planters, attend two of the best conferences ever, visit several amazing churches, and now this trip.
Here are some of my prayers & hopes for this trip:
- To sit and listen to the wisdom of these guys
- To be challenged about my walk with Christ
- To look at how we do things from a different angle
- To grow as a leader, preacher, and Christian
- To have fun!!
