Friday Rundown
The past few days has been kind of crazy but as we head into Fall Break and Beth & I get ready to get away for a few days after church on Sunday … here’s a rundown of some stuff that’s going on:
- Last Sunday the video for Calhoun almost didn’t work. At about 10:28 (service starts @ 10:30), thanks to some creative rigging by our tech guys, it started working … and someone got saved during the service!!
- Just about every high school football team in the area is off tonight. Since I’m doing Football Friday again this year, I’m going down to Gordon County to watch Sonoraville.
- There are two big reasons why I host Football Friday:Â 1) I love local football and so it’s fun and -2) Personal outreach
- Two more weeks of Go Retro AND then we celebrate 5 years BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY we get ready for The Next Step God wants us to take as a church!! Following God is the way to go!
- I’m reading through the Psalms right now … AWESOME STUFF!!!
- I’m also in Leviticus. It’s kind of boring and hard to follow but just think how close Moses and God’s relationship must have been for him to hear God’s voice so clearly on everything from how to kill the sacrificial animals to how to deal with mildew!! I want that type of walk with God!!!
- My prayer life has lagged a bit lately but I’ve had some great time today in my prayer “closet” that’s in my office.
- Since our basement had some water damage from a clogged A/C condensate line, Beth & I are basically redoing our basement right now.  It’s a pain but it’ll be worth it because we use our basement so much from everything to small group to watching Prison Break (so far so good this season!) and 24 (Jack has about 3 episodes to impress me this year or I’m out).
- We’re having some great discussions right now about staffing & structuring our church to be able to minister to more and more people with the same level of care and strong relationships that we’ve had thus far.Â
- Also having fun talking about a 3rd service … )we’re just talking at this point).
- Greg (Worship Pastor) and I just finished praying for our services on Sunday … can’t wait!!
