Sunday Recap (9.16.2007)
Go Retro continued today as we talked about prayer and how prayer is absolutely necessary for us to live the lives God wants us to live.
1) Prayer is the approved way to receive from God. We looked at James 4:1-6 which shows us that we can either fight, battle, and quarrel trying to get what we want/need from the world OR we can simply ask God.
2) Prayer is the way to get what we want. If we have a right to ‘want’ something, then we have the right to ask God (our Creator, Sustainer, and Provider) for it.
3) Prayer honors God. Prayer shows our dependence on God.
4) There are big problems when I don’t pray. I don’t get the life that was planned by God for me. I limit God’s work in my life. I lose the battle.
