What a Weekend!!
This was one of those weeks … we had to work through some technology issues with our video recording and set-up for our Calhoun campus; we pulled off a huge Youth event, Survivor Rocky Face; one of the Dalton communities most passionate teachers & fans passed away and I helped with the funeral; we had a video shoots being done all weekend in preparation for our 5-year celebration and The Next Step campaign, AND to top it all off, we ‘brought sexy’ back on Sunday in Dalton (watch out Calhoun!!)
Because my brain still isn’t working, here’s some very random thoughts:
- To do a funeral for Beth ‘Mama Cat’ Nysewander was both hard and easy … hard because our community lost a special person, yet easy because there are so many wonderful things to say about her.
- Mark Clement and Big Picture Media Group did a fantastic job helping out this weekend! Mark blogged about his trip to Dalton here.
- In Calhoun this weekend the experience and environments continued to improve. We did see the typical drop in attendance from Week 1 to Week 2 as expected; however, we’ve received some incredible emails and stories with the basic theme of “we’ve been searching for a church like this” and “Calhoun needs Rock Bridge.” {Multi-site rocks!!!}
- Talking about “Bringing Sexy Back” was tough and fun at the same time. I think the service was great. The ladies did a great job with “Can’t Hurry Love” and I hope the practical teaching helped people in an area that the church has abandoned, with horrific results as now MTV & Hollywood seem to own the dialogue on how to be ’sexy’.Â

- I’m leaving next Sunday after church for a prayer retreat!! This has been one of the greatest additions to my ministry and life since I started it almost a year ago. I’m also meeting with Greg Oraham of Foothills Community Church (Seneca, SC). I met Greg up in Anderson, SC at NewSpring Church. Seneca is a small, lake community. (Just how small? I think you turn on “Possum” Rd. to get to Greg’s church
 However, this church is growing, reaching, and changing a community for Christ and I’m pumped to meet up with Greg! - I just want to ask you to please PRAY for our church and all that is happening right now. What is happening in NW Georgia cannot be explained and all credit goes to God. Take some time to thank Him and ask Him for more of His presence, more salvations, and more life change. It’s ALL ABOUT HIM!!
